Property Overview

Hondaafushi Island Resort is located in Haa Dhaalu Atoll on a 59-hectare island fringed by more than five kilometres of white-sand beach. Much of the island remains covered by tropical vegetation, creating a spacious setting with only beachfront accommodation and no overwater villas.

Facilities include an outdoor pool, dive centre, watersports centre, gym, library and wellness spa. Guests can also explore the island by bicycle or use the resort’s internal transport, while excursions range from dolphin watching and fishing to visits to local islands.

How far is the nearest beach?

All bungalows are detached and face the beach. Superior and Deluxe Beach Bungalows include private sundecks, allowing guests to reach the sand directly from their accommodation.

Distance from Airport

Hondaafushi Island Resort is reached from Velana International Airport by a domestic flight of approximately 50 minutes to Hanimaadhoo, followed by a speedboat transfer of around 10 minutes. Transfers operate during daylight hours.

Rooms

The resort’s beachfront accommodation includes three confirmed categories:

● Superior Beach Bungalows measure 56 square metres and have a king-size bed, private sundeck with a daybed, and a semi-open-air bathroom with an outdoor shower. Interconnecting units can be requested for families or groups.

● Deluxe Beach Bungalows provide 89 square metres of space and add a bathtub to the semi-open-air bathroom. They are detached and positioned directly on the beachfront.

● Family Bungalows measure 138 square metres and can accommodate up to six adults, or four adults and two children.

Room amenities may include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television, minibar, safe, tea and coffee facilities, and a terrace or sundeck.

Food & Drink

Dining is centred around the Main Restaurant and Thila Bar:

● The Main Restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with international dishes and live cooking stations. The dinner selection changes through a programme of themed menus.

● Thila Bar is located beside the swimming pool at the tip of the island. It serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and looks towards the sunset.

Excursions include island hopping, dolphin watching, snorkelling trips, sandbank visits and several forms of fishing. The resort also offers diving for beginners and certified divers through Hondaafushi Diving.
