Responsible travel: a matter of ethics and human values

Atelo Travel Quintrip (Pty Ltd) designs its holiday packages with their social and environmental impact in mind. For us, responsible travel is a matter of ethics and human values, and it shapes the choices we make when we select the services in each package. We build our packages with airlines, hotels and local partners, and we ask our accommodation partners to share their sustainability policies and encourage them to keep improving them. We are also open to working with any organisation that advances sustainable tourism and helps travel have a more positive effect on the places we visit.

Supporting responsible tourism

Responsible tourism is not only about how we design a trip, it is also about supporting the causes that protect the places and communities our travellers visit. We are choosing a reputable association that supports responsible tourism and fair environmental and social practices, and we want our donation to be used effectively for the causes we advocate. Choosing well takes time, and we would rather support one cause properly than spread small amounts thinly. We will name the association on this page as soon as our support is in place.

How we share our commitments

Our commitment to responsible and fair tourism requires constant education, innovation and a willingness to challenge ourselves, so that our operations and internal decisions keep improving. To stay accountable, we keep our customers and suppliers informed through our newsletter, our blog and our social media. Our visits to the destinations we offer also let us meet our suppliers in person and discuss our shared commitments to responsible and fair tourism, so that we can see whether they are moving in the same direction as us. Responsible tourism is a journey, and we will keep sharing what we learn along the way.
