OVERVIEW

Whether you are looking for an adventure or a peaceful island to completely disconnect and unwind, Bali is the place for you.

Balinese people have a reputation for being friendly and warm, making Bali a popular destination for its idyllic white sand beaches, turquoise sea, and dense jungle. A place of peace and tranquility as well as a land of adventure, this corner of paradise is ideal for surfers, as they are spoilt for choice and will find the perfect waves, depending on the season.

During the dry season, which runs from April to September, Nusa Lembongan and the northwest coast are the best places to go, while during the wet season, the eastern part of the island is perfect. You can catch waves at Balian or venture to Uluwatu, one of the island's most popular surfing spots, which offers stunning views.

Beach lovers will fall in love with Bali's beaches and be seduced by its charm. Kuta and Seminyak's popular beaches are very lively with their abundance of bars and restaurants. If you're in search of peace and quiet, you'll have to step out from the tourist areas to discover a heavenly atmosphere at Balangan Beach, braced by rocky cliffs.

A visit to the south of the island will immerse you in a picturesque atmosphere with its golden sand beaches and small oases. Lastly, if you are looking for even more peace and quiet, you can reach Nyang Nyang Beach by way of the 500-step staircase.
Don't be surprised if the people of Bali, called the Balinese, give you a warm and flowery welcome when you arrive on your Bali holidays.

in Bali

Indonesia is made up of thousands of islands, so it's no surprise that Balinese cuisine is similarly varied. You wouldn't want to miss out on some of Bali's most famous delicacies.

Forget Pad Thai, one of the most popular Thai dishes is Pad Kra Pao. Pad Kra Pao is a stir-fry served with steamed rice. This spicy dish is made with plenty of garlic, chillies, fish sauce, soy sauce and most importantly, holy basil leaves. Because of this specific ingredient, Pad Kra Pao is known as Holy Basil Stir Fry. Due to the simplicity and the fact that it’s served within minutes, Pad Kra Pao can be seen as the Thai equivalent of the hamburger (or other types of fast food).

Bebek Bengil
The restaurant's signature dish is a half duck cooked with Indonesian spices and deep fried to a crisp. Each meal comes with cooked potatoes, side salad, or rice and Balinese veggies. Not everyone likes duck but if you do then try the Bebek Bengil, this specialty during your Bali holidays, delicious drizzled with lemon and accompanied by fresh vegetables and even French fries if you want.

Khao Soi is for many foreigners instantly one of their favourite Thai dishes once they have tried it. This Northern, creamy Thai curry is not as spicy as most curries and is incredibly fragrant thanks to ingredients such as lemongrass, turmeric, ginger, coriander seeds and lime leaves. On the bottom of the bowl, you’ll find noodles even though it’s served with crispy fried noodles on top as well. Usually, the curry is served with a tender chicken drumstick.
