Often referred to as the "intense island," Reunion Island has a natural environment that is both wild and beautiful. Among its most valuable assets are its paradisiacal beaches and diverse natural environment.

An island of scenic beauty, Reunion is a convergence of beaches, lush forest, and a surprisingly rich indigenous culture that is little known to visitors. The area is a wonderful destination for a vacation with family, a significant other, or a group of friends.

There are several things to see and do on Reunion Island. Exploring its wildlife and flora, as well as hiking and excursions, and visiting its beaches, volcanoes, and waterfalls, are just a few of the things you can do.

Nature seekers will go to the south to see the Garden of Spices and Perfumes and the Cap Méchant, both of which are worth seeing. Those looking for relaxation will enjoy the beaches of Saint-Gilles, Saint-Leu, and La Saline that are all easily accessible. Discover the island of Reunion by canyoning in Cilaos, trekking to the Piton de la Fournaise, or mountain biking through the Tamarins forest, which is a true paradise for sports and adventure lovers. If you are looking for a holiday packed with activities, then this is the place for you.

About our Reunion holiday packages

Experience the beach and nature in one of our Reunion holiday packages

Get lost in the greenery, or in the water... You're taking a journey to the island of Reunion! This region is home to volcanoes, cirques, and paradisiacal beaches, all under the control of nature. Relax and let her amaze you, right there in the middle of the Indian Ocean...

Reunion is renowned for its beautiful beaches, warm, clear water, and abundance of fish. This makes it the perfect playground for anyone who likes water-based activities. Approximately thirty kilometers of sandy beaches, including twenty-two kilometers of lagoon, are available on the island, which has been excellently conserved and protected by a coral reef.

Swimming sports, including those using fins, masks, and snorkels, as well as those involving the driving power of the waves, such as surfing, bodyboarding, and paddleboarding, are forbidden within a 300-meter zone around the shoreline. But they are permitted in the lagoon, monitored areas, and operational experimental zones, warning systems and protective equipment are in place to limit the danger of being attacked by sharks in these places.

A cheap holiday to Reunion where nature will be generous

You will be surrounded by lush tropical greenery and a wide range of flowering plants. With increasing proximity to the island's west shore, the ground becomes dryer, and the hue of the landscape begins to become a bit red because of the heat.

Even though Reunion is more known for its ecotourism than it is for its beaches, the island offers more than 35 kilometers of sandy beaches, the most of which are situated on the leeward coast to the west. Windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, as well as deep-sea fishing, are all possible because of these conditions.

While Reunion Island is mostly known for its outdoor activities and trekking, it also boasts some stunning beaches that will appeal to those who enjoy the sun and water sports. You will be able to enjoy white or black sand beaches as well as lagoons that have been preserved and protected by the coral reefs on your trip. Visit the most beautiful beaches on Reunion Island with your mask and snorkel and immerse yourself in the great diversity of underwater flora and wildlife that the island has to offer.

Are you dreaming of warm beaches, coconut palms, and blue oceans? On the island of Reunion, you will be provided with meals throughout your stay. Despite the island's fame for hiking trails and an active volcano, those who enjoy lazing on the beach will not be left out in the cold. Saint-Paul and Saint-Philippe share thirty kilometers of beachfront. The choice of which beach to visit is entirely up to you; each has its own "little extra."

Reunion Island is a paradise for travelers, but it is also a wild area that you will have to tame, and it will not be easy. Because of the tortured relief that emerges from the depths of the Indian Ocean when seen from above, the island seems startling and strange from above. This extraordinary natural park, designated as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is the result of volcanic activity's creation of countless forested valleys and towering gorges traversed by rivers.

Discover the beach of Saint Gille with our Reunion holiday packages

It is situated at the southernmost point of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, on the Trou d'eau beach. Although it is a peaceful beach, it is not monitored. The fact that it is fitted to nautical activity is especially appreciated by people who are used to it. This is true for those who like sports such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing, as well as those who appreciate the very rich bottom that is clearly apparent due to the translucent seas. This beach is very popular with Reunionese residents towards the end of the day for picnics and walking.

The beach of Grande Anse is situated on the island's southern shore. Grande Anse beach has a picturesque scenery worthy of a postcard: golden sand, lush flora, coconut palms, crystal blue water... Lounging enthusiasts have discovered the ideal location for their vacation. Swimming, on the other hand, is quite risky due to the surf, although it is possible to swim securely in the pool at the end of the beach that is sheltered by rocks.

Because the island is volcanic in origin, the beach on Sable Noir has a dark black tint. Known for its volcanic sand and calm waters, the Etang-Salé beach is a popular destination for visitors who like strolling down the shoreline while being rocked by the sound of the waves. Its 1.5Km length guarantees you a relaxing stroll, during which you may choose to rest, eat, or play in the sand. Caution is advised since not all the beach is appropriate for swimming. The coral reef naturally protects a basin from the surge that comes with it. Finally, be aware that the sand in the salt pond may be quite hot!

The Hermitage beach, which is situated between Saint-Gilles and La Saline and is around 7 kilometers in length, overlooks a lagoon that is protected by a coral reef. The water is calm and pleasant, and the depth does not exceed 1 to 2 meters, making it an excellent area for children to swim and play in the summer. There are big parts of the rear beach that are shaded by filaos, where families gather for enormous picnics every weekend. With a mask and snorkel, it is possible to see a large variety of tropical fish.

The beach of Tremblet/Vieux Port, which is situated on the territory of the commune of Saint-Philippe in the south-east of the island and has the distinction of being one of the world's youngest beaches. It was produced in 2007 because of the eruption of the volcano Piton de la Fournaise. The lava flowed all the way to the shore, which had previously been stony. There is now a 300-meter-long stretch of extremely fine black sand that has created an unusual and wild location! The high tide and the currents, on the other hand, should be avoided. Swimming is not permitted under any circumstances.
