Finolhu is set in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and extends across four connected islands with two kilometres of white-sand beach. Its accessible house reef and surrounding coral system create opportunities for snorkelling and diving, while the resort’s atmosphere is designed to suit couples, families and groups of friends. Guests can spend quieter days around the lagoon or choose from water sports, excursions and a regular entertainment programme. The long sandbank is one of the property’s defining features, with Crab Shack positioned partway along it.

How far is the nearest beach?

The beach is immediately accessible throughout the resort. Finolhu’s white-sand shoreline stretches for approximately two kilometres across four connected islands, while its beach villas provide direct access to the sand. Lagoon and overwater villas are positioned directly beside or above the surrounding water.

Distance from Airport

Finolhu is approximately 30 minutes from Velana International Airport by seaplane. An alternative route involves a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Airport, followed by a speedboat transfer of around 30 minutes to the resort.

Finolhu has 125 villas positioned directly on the beach, beside the lagoon or over the water, with 79 featuring private pools. Designed by London-based Muza Lab, the interiors use colours inspired by the island’s natural surroundings. Categories begin with the 145-square-metre Lagoon Villa and extend to larger beach and water villas with one, two or three bedrooms. Several options accommodate families or groups, including interconnecting beach villas and the Two Bedroom Rockstar Ocean Pool Villa. Many villas include outdoor showers, private terraces and direct access to the beach or ocean.

Finolhu has four principal restaurants supported by several more casual food and drink venues. Beach Kitchen serves local and international dishes throughout the day, with seating overlooking the sea or beside the pool. Kanusan specialises in Japanese and Asian cuisine, while Arabian Grill focuses on Middle Eastern flavours. Crab Shack is located along the resort’s sandbank and offers informal beachfront dining. Guests can also stop at Beach Club for drinks and light food or visit Milk LAB for coffee and snacks.
