Property Overview

Filitheyo Island Resort is located in Faafu Atoll, around 120 kilometres from Velana International Airport. The 21-hectare island is covered by tropical vegetation and surrounded by a house reef with several access points for snorkelling and diving.

The resort has 118 beachfront and overwater villas, an infinity-edge pool with a swim-up bar, a dive centre, gym, library and Jungle Spa. Its relatively isolated setting and reef-focused activities make it particularly suited to travellers who prefer nature and underwater exploration to a busy entertainment-led resort.

How far is the nearest beach?

The Superior and Deluxe Villas are positioned directly on the beachfront, with private sundecks leading towards the sand. Water Villas stand above the lagoon and provide direct access to the water from their private steps.

Distance from Airport

Filitheyo Island Resort is approximately 120 kilometres from Velana International Airport. The journey involves a seaplane flight of around 35 minutes, followed by a traditional dhoni transfer lasting approximately 10 minutes.

Rooms

The resort offers four accommodation categories:

● Superior Beach Villas are semi-detached beachfront units measuring 59 square metres. They include a four-poster king-size bed or twin beds, a private sundeck and a semi-open-air bathroom with an outdoor shower.

● Deluxe Beach Villas are detached units measuring 67 square metres. Each has a beachfront position, private sundeck and a semi-open-air bathroom with a bathtub and outdoor shower.

● Water Villas measure 90 square metres and stand above the lagoon. They feature a private sundeck, jacuzzi, traditional swing chair and steps leading directly into the water.

● Family Villas measure 112 square metres and can accommodate up to six adults or four adults and two children.

Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, television, minibar and tea and coffee facilities are available across the villa range.

Food & Drink

The resort has two restaurants and two bars:

● Main Restaurant serves international buffet meals, supported by live cooking stations at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

● Sunset Restaurant & Bar offers an international à la carte menu, wines and cocktails at the tip of the island. Its pool includes a swim-up bar.

● Main Bar has a sandy floor and serves spirits, wine and beer, with indoor seating and tables beside the beach.

Experiences & Activities

Filitheyo’s house reef has multiple entry points and provides access to coral, reef fish, turtles, rays and reef sharks. The Filitheyo Dive Centre operates daily excursions, courses and visits to more than 40 sites across Faafu Atoll.

Kayaking and paddleboarding are available through the watersports centre. Organised trips include island hopping, snorkelling excursions, fishing and seasonal whale shark or manta trips. Guests can also spend time at the infinity-edge pool, gym or library.
