Near Ponta Malongane, Visit Maputo Elephant Reserve

The Maputo Elephant Reserve was developed in 1960 to safeguard the wild elephant population in this area. Maputo Special Reserve was renamed in 1969 to emphasize the preservation significance of the site, which includes more than elephants. Elephants were brought from other locations and released here after the Mozambican war.
Seventy-nine kilometers south of Maputo, not far from Ponta Malongane, the Maputo Elephant Reserve resides in a spacious area. The excitement of seeing Maputo Elephant Reserve in Mozambique comes from its natural beauty, preserved since the end of the civil war.
One of the Nature Reserves, this reserve is only accessible by 4x4 vehicle and is located in Mozambique, South Africa, and Swaziland. It is home to a broad diversity of animals and birds.
To get around the park, visitors may expect to see marshes, rolling grassland, and woodlands along the two rivers that flow through the park. The park has between 100 and 300 elephants in reserve and an unspecified number of elephants in the forest area.
The park's lakes are home to many southern African birds, making a trip to Maputo Elephant Park a pleasant experience for bird watchers. The plains are home to zebra and antelope, while the water holes and lakes are home to crocodiles and hippos. Travelers can get up and personal with the reserve's elephant population, which is a beautiful experience.
