City Break: What to do & see in Beau Vallon, Seychelles

Jul 15, 2022

You won't discover the same ambiance in larger cities as in smaller ones. In Seychelles, Beau Vallon, about three kilometers from the capital city of Victoria, is one of Mahé's most popular beaches. It stretches for around one and a half kilometers. It attracts many visitors each year.

Beau Vallon, one of Seychelles' longest beaches, is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike because of its gorgeous environment, extensive range of activities, and excellent infrastructure. It is possible to sit under the shelter of trees and watch the sunset with local anglers in the late afternoon.

Travel experts and recent visitors agree that Beau Vallon Beach is worth checking out, even though it has a resort-like vibe. It is especially true if you're traveling with children, as there are no strong currents or sharp bits of coral lurking beneath the waters.

Beau Vallon is only three miles from Victoria, Seychelles' central city, and is easily accessible by bus, car, or taxi. The best way to maximize your time in Beau Vallon is to write down all the exciting things to do and see before you arrive.

Please take a tour or day trip using Seychelles packages offered by Quintrip to see the best of Beau Vallon. Here is the list of the great things to do in and near Beau Vallon that we've compiled.

City Break: What to do & see in Beau Vallon, Seychelles

1. Enjoy Water Sports

Many people associate Seychelles with the island of Mahé, especially those who associate Mahé with Beau Vallon Bay, the island's most well-known and popular beach. It is an excellent location for water sports like snorkeling, boating, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, and scuba diving because of its vast shoreline and calm waters.

The beach and waves are free, but you'll have to pay for equipment rentals and dive expeditions with each water sports operator. A lifeguard on duty adds to the beach's inviting and safe ambiance, and it also shows how popular Beau Vallon can get.

Getting to the beach isn't any more difficult because of the plentiful public parking and frequent bus service that stops next to the beach's road.

2. See Spectacular Sunset Views in the Evening

After a long and exhausting day at work, Beau Vallon Beach is the perfect spot to unwind. You can lay on the sand and soak in the breathtaking sunsets daily.

Travelers who want to soak up the sun will like the area's abundance of lodging, dining, and retail options. It is also a great place to visit in the evening because of the spectacular sunset views over the water.

It's no surprise that Beau Vallon is so popular with visitors and residents alike and that this beach is one of the few must-see spots in Seychelles. Plan your trip to Beau Vallon with the help of Seychelles packages offered by Quintrip.

3. Enjoy Live Music Shows at Weekly Night Market

As much as possible, everyone tries to consume the local cuisine whenever they visit a new nation. There is a weekly night market along the beach where visitors may sample the native cuisine, music, dancing, drinks, and culture of Seychelles with the help of locals. It is a great place to spend some time after work.

Traditional meals, including grilled fish with rice, curries, and more, are available at this market. You can also try popular snacks like banana and breadfruit chips.

As local musicians and bands often offer impromptu shows, live music guarantees a fun atmosphere for guests.

4. Visit Eden Island, Just 7.8 km away from Beau Vallon

On the east coast of Mahe Island, Eden Island is an artificial island that sits near Beau Vallon. It is a luxury area with gorgeous villas, opulent hotels, and retail malls. Take a stroll along the Eden Island Marina, gaze at the numerous luxurious yachts, or indulge in retail therapy.

The nightlife in Seychelles may also be found on Eden Island. A Friday night trip to Boardwalk will give you a taste of the weekend's extravagances.

Beau Vallon is a beach resort on the northwest corner of Mahe, Seychelles, that is renowned for Seychelles packages. This is where the bulk of tourists to Seychelles stay and where most of the tourism infrastructure is situated. On Beau Vallon's sandy beaches, there are several hotels and resorts.

5. Visit the Capital Near Beau Vallon

Victoria, the vibrant capital of Seychelles, is a must-see stop on any vacation. You won't have to spend much time in this dynamic borough, Africa's tiniest capital city, to see everything.

6. Visit the National Museum of History, Just 3.8 km away from Beau Vallon

Everyone interested in wildlife should make it a point to visit one of the most exciting new museums. This fantastic museum opened in late 2018.

You will find a chronology of the history of Seychelles spanning 300 years, complete with model ships, firearms, and other items from the country's past.

7. Hiking Near Beau Vallon

On a budget, a climb near Beau Vallon is also strongly suggested. Here are most of the hiking trails. They range from easy to complex, but all are beautiful.

The Copolia Walk near Beau Vallon is a beautiful nature trail and one of Mahe's most popular eco-attractions that provides stunning views of the island's east coast, including Victoria and Eden Island. This 1.6-kilometer track, which showcases native vegetation, dense forests, and breathtaking glaciers, is a hiker's dream.

If you've never trekked before, Copolia Trip's 45-minute East Coast trek is a great way to taste the rugged terrain without any prior expertise. To get the most out of your trip to Copolia, I recommend waking up early enough to catch the sunrise.

Compared to the Copolia Trail, the Morne Blanc(Just 11.7 km away from Beau Vallon) Trail is more complex and requires a higher level of physical fitness. It's a 1.6-kilometer hike with a 630-meter elevation gain that takes around an hour to complete.

8. Visit Victoria Clock Tower, Seychelles' Oldest Historical Landmark

Located on the island of Mahe, near Beau Vallon, the Victoria Clocktower is one of Seychelles' most recognizable historical landmarks. It is a replica of London's Clock Tower.

On April 1, 1903, it was inaugurated as a tribute to Queen Victoria. Consider snapping a few photos of this historic landmark to relive the city's colonial era.

There are several lodging options near the beach. There is lots of public parking nearby, and the regular bus service stops on the road alongside the beach, making it simple to get there by vehicle, taxi, or bus, and enjoy amazing Seychelles packages.
