Overview

The Maldives' Kaafu Atoll is a division in the administrative structure. It includes North Male Atoll, South Male Atoll, and the Maldives' Kaashidhoo and Gaafaru islands, forming the Kaafu region.
The Maldives' largest atoll, Kaafu, is the official name for economic and tourism. One of the Maldives' main islands lies in the middle of the island chain. There are also some uninhabited islands in the area. Kaafu administrative division does not include Male, located in the North Male Atoll; it is the capital of the Maldives.
Kaafu is the Maldives' longest and most famous atoll and the Maldives' economic and tourist hub. It comprises 80 islands, of which only 12 are inhabited. Almost all of the region's islands have been developed as tourist destinations or industrial sites.
Velana International Airport, the country's busiest airport, is located in Kaafu Atoll. Tourists planning day outings or excursions have many options for fantastic restaurants, museums, boutiques, vibrant markets, and other points of interest.
Surfers worldwide flock to North Male Atoll, a popular destination for locals. Lohi's Break, Raalhugandu, the city's native surf break, and Avengers, a slow right-hander excellent for beginners and longboarders, are just a few of the city's many surf breakers.
Divers and surfers alike will love the Kaafu Atoll. There are a lot of places to go surfing in the eastern part of the state. Male Atoll Thulusdhoo is a significant shopping destination with Coca-Cola bottling plants. On top of all that, the Maldives is home to the world's most extensive collection of dried fish storage facilities.

Visit Incomparable Kaafu Atoll Jewel, Gaafaru

With its stunning scenery, the island of Gaafaru is just 40 kilometers away from Velana International Airport. It is a tiny island surrounded by coral and lagoons rich in marine life. There are no other islands in Kaafu Atoll like it; therefore, it has been dubbed "the jewel of Kaafu Atoll" since it is a single island tucked away in its little coral just outside the main atoll chain.
One of Gaafaru's most compelling selling qualities is the opportunity for visitors to enjoy an authentic Maldivian island without having to share it with anybody else.
There are slightly over 1400 people living in Gaafaru, with roughly 200 local residences and two guesthouses for visitors to stay in. The lagoon known as Buruli Falhu surrounding Gaafaru is the second largest.
Scuba diving, free diving, and snorkeling are popular Maldivian pastimes on the island because they have a vast natural resource to explore.
One of the island's must-see attractions for tourists is a frame-like piece of wreckage located near one of the island's more popular shipwrecks.
Gaafaru is only a short distance away from two stunning sandbanks. The lagoon's turquoise waters are teeming with friendly turtles. If you visit the island and take a snorkeling tour, you're unlikely to miss seeing a few of these friendly chelonians.
