Short Trips, Big Cities, No Time Wasted
A city break is proof that you don't need two weeks to feel like you've properly been somewhere. A few days is enough — enough to wander a new neighbourhood, sit down at a restaurant you found by accident, and come home with a head full of streets you didn't know existed a week before.

At Quintrip, our city break packages are built around flights, centrally located hotels, and transfers that get you into the action fast, without wasting a single day of a short trip getting oriented. Whether you're after a long weekend or a longer stopover, we handle the logistics so you can spend your time actually exploring.

Some cities hand you their history on a plate — grand squares, centuries-old landmarks, museums that take a full day to get through. Others reveal themselves more slowly, through a market, a neighbourhood bar, or a walk along the water at the right hour. Our specialists build each itinerary around what makes a destination worth the trip in the first place.

Ready to swap a long-haul holiday for something shorter and just as memorable? Let's plan your next city break.

Short Trips, Big Cities, No Time Wasted
If your idea of a short getaway involves cobblestone streets, rooftop views, and a coffee somewhere with a view, a city break might be exactly what you need. Whichever city has been on your list, we'll help you make the most of every day you're there.

Is Istanbul calling your name? Two continents meet across the Bosphorus here, and centuries of history sit side by side with a food scene that never slows down. Between the Grand Bazaar, the call to prayer, and a ferry ride at sunset, boredom isn't really on the table.

How about Athens? Often treated as a stopover on the way to the islands, the city deserves more than a night — the Acropolis at golden hour, the winding streets of Plaka, and a taverna dinner that runs long into the evening are worth building a whole trip around.

Consider Cairo, home to the last of the ancient wonders still standing — the pyramids of Giza sit close enough to the city that you can visit them and be back in time for dinner, alongside museums that hold thousands of years of history in a single afternoon.

Dublin, Istanbul, Cairo, Athens — the list goes on. Explore our city break packages and pick the destination that fits the trip you're after.
Hotels Chosen to Put You in the Heart of the City
A city break lives or dies by location — nobody wants to spend half their short trip stuck in traffic getting to the sights. That's why our city break hotels are chosen for where they sit, not just what they offer.

For a first visit, we lean toward hotels within walking distance of the landmarks that make the destination what it is, so mornings can start with a coffee and a stroll rather than a long transfer.

For a return trip, or for travellers who already know the main sights, we can point you toward a quieter neighbourhood instead — somewhere with better restaurants and fewer crowds, a different side of the same city.

Travelling for work with a few extra days tacked on, or squeezing in a weekend with friends? Either way, we build the stay around how you'll actually use your time in the city, not a generic checklist of amenities.

Frequently Asked Questions
about City Breaks holiday packages

  • What's included in a city break package?

Most of our city break packages include flights, a centrally located hotel, and airport transfers. If you want excursions, a guided tour, or a specific day trip added in, just tell your travel specialist and we'll build that into the quote.
  • How many days should I plan for a city break?

Three to five nights tends to work well for most cities on our list, enough time to see the main sights without feeling rushed. If you're combining two cities in one trip, we'll help you split the days so neither one feels shortchanged.
  • Are the hotels close to the main attractions?

Yes, wherever possible we choose hotels within walking distance of the landmarks that make the destination worth visiting, so you're not losing half your day to transfers and traffic.
  • Can I combine two cities in one trip?

Definitely. Istanbul and Athens, or Cairo with a few days added on somewhere else, are combinations we put together often. Let us know the cities you're considering and we'll work out the logistics.
  • What's the best time of year for a city break?

It depends on the city more than the season. Some destinations are at their best outside the peak summer months, when it's cooler for walking around. Tell us your travel dates and we'll point you toward the cities that suit them.
  • Can you put together a custom quote for a city that's not listed on your website?

Yes. We can't list every city we work with, so if there's somewhere specific you have in mind, get in touch with one of our travel specialists and we'll build a tailor-made itinerary around it.

About our City Break holiday packages

City Break Packages, Built for Getting the Most Out of a Short Trip

Sometimes you don't need two weeks away, you just need a change of scenery for a few days. A city break gives you that without the commitment of a full holiday, a chance to swap your usual routine for cobbled streets, a different language on the menu, and a hotel bed that isn't your own.

Istanbul is one we send a lot of people to. There's something about a city split across two continents, where a call to prayer drifts over rooftops one minute and you're haggling over a rug in the Grand Bazaar the next. Add a ferry ride down the Bosphorus at sunset and you've got a trip that feels far bigger than its three or four days.

Athens tends to get treated as a stopover before the islands, which is a shame, because the city on its own is worth the trip. Walk up to the Acropolis before the crowds arrive, get lost in the narrow streets of Plaka, and finish the day with a long dinner somewhere that isn't trying too hard to impress tourists.

Then there's Cairo, where you can see the pyramids of Giza in the morning and be back at your hotel in time for lunch. It's not a city that eases you in gently, but that's kind of the point.

We build our city break packages around flights, a hotel that's actually close to what you came to see, and transfers that don't eat into your first day. Some travellers want a full itinerary handed to them, others just want the logistics sorted and the rest left open. Either way works.

If you're weighing up a city break against a longer holiday, or trying to decide which city fits the few days you've got, get in touch and we'll help you figure it out.
