LUX* Belle Mare is a five-star resort on Mauritius’ east coast, set along more than a kilometre of white-sand beach. Its current configuration includes 174 suites and 12 sea-facing villas, together with a large central swimming pool and contemporary tropical design. The resort is substantial but organised around beach, pool and garden spaces, balancing strong family facilities with areas suited to couples. How far is the nearest beach?

The resort sits directly on Belle Mare Beach, so guests step from the property onto a long stretch of white sand facing the east-coast lagoon. The beach extends for more than one kilometre in front of the resort and forms a central part of the stay rather than an off-site attraction. Distance from Airport

LUX* Belle Mare is around 45–50 km from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the main international gateway for travellers arriving from South Africa. A road transfer normally takes about one hour, depending on traffic and time of day. The journey crosses from the south-east of Mauritius to Belle Mare on the east coast, with no domestic flight or boat connection required, making the onward journey relatively straightforward after arrival.

Accommodation is entirely suite- and villa-based, with 174 suites and 12 villas. Entry-level Junior Suites are already spacious at around 60 m², while the range extends to wellness-focused, pool-view, beach-view, ocean and family options, plus larger premium suites. Family Suites use connecting accommodation for extra space, while the villas add private pools and dedicated butler service. Balconies or terraces feature throughout the suite collection, giving even the standard accommodation a generous residential feel.

Dining is one of the resort’s strongest areas, with concepts ranging from international cuisine at MONDO to Mediterranean-style Beach Rouge, contemporary Indian dining at Amari by Vineet and Chinese cuisine at Duck Laundry.
