How far is the nearest beach?

The resort occupies its own natural island, so beach access is immediate and forms part of the property itself. Beach villas open directly towards the sand, while overwater villas provide direct access to the lagoon from their private decks. The island is surrounded by a house reef with extensive coral and marine life, making snorkelling possible close to the resort. Guests therefore do not need transport or an excursion simply to reach a usable beach or lagoon.

Distance from Airport

The Standard, Maldives lies around 148 kilometres from Velana International Airport and is normally reached by seaplane. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes according to the resort’s current transfer information, with schedules linked to international arrival and departure times and daylight operating limits. A domestic flight to Dharavandhoo followed by a speedboat may also be used in some circumstances. MLE remains the correct international arrival airport for travellers coming from South Africa.
