Property Overview

The Oberoi, Bali is a low-rise beachfront resort spread across around 15 acres of tropical gardens in Seminyak, with 74 Lanai rooms and villas arranged in traditional pavilion-style buildings. The layout favours space and privacy rather than a dense hotel block, with mature landscaping separating much of the accommodation. A beachfront pool, spa, tennis court, fitness facilities and an open-air amphitheatre sit within the grounds. Despite the secluded atmosphere, central Seminyak’s restaurants, shopping and nightlife remain close at hand.

How far is the nearest beach?

The resort sits directly on Seminyak Beach and has access to around 500 metres of sand, so guests do not need to cross a road or use transport to reach the shoreline. Garden paths lead through the property to the beachfront, where the main pool and daytime dining also face the ocean. The beach is therefore central to the resort’s layout and daily experience. Its west-coast position also makes the shoreline a natural setting for sunset walks and private dining experiences.

Distance from Airport

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is approximately 9 kilometres from The Oberoi, Bali. The resort gives a typical driving time of around 45 minutes, reflecting the traffic conditions that can affect journeys through South Bali even over relatively short distances. The transfer is entirely by road, with no domestic flight, boat or secondary connection required. This keeps the arrival straightforward for travellers flying into Bali from South Africa while placing them directly in Seminyak.

Rooms

Accommodation ranges from 55–60 sqm Lanai rooms to substantially larger villas of 200 sqm or more, with garden, partial-ocean and ocean views available across the collection. Even the entry-level Lanai rooms include private terraces and marble bathrooms with sunken bathtubs, giving the base accommodation a generous residential feel. Higher categories add private courtyards, al fresco dining pavilions and, in selected villas, private pools. The top Royal Ocean View Villa with Pool extends to approximately 400 sqm in total.

Dining centres on two restaurants, an amphitheatre experience and a bar. Frangipani Cafe serves European, Indian and Indonesian dishes beside the beach during the day, while Kura Kura provides an open-air dinner setting with ocean views. The Amphitheatre hosts themed dinners accompanied by traditional Balinese dance, and Kayu Bar adds cocktails, wines and casual dining overlooking the gardens and sea. Private candlelit meals on Seminyak Beach provide a more secluded option for couples.

Experiences & Activities

The experience programme places unusual emphasis on Bali’s culture and natural environment. Guests can arrange a blessing at nearby Petitenget Temple, join full-moon celebrations, watch traditional performances, learn Balinese dance or music, and take part in wider island excursions such as cycling, trekking and rafting. Between May and October, the resort’s turtle sanctuary protects Olive Ridley turtle eggs and may offer opportunities to help release hatchlings.
