Its tropical climate allows you to plan a trip at any time. It is a beautiful destination to explore, but it's also an excellent spot to rest and unwind.

Why South Coast

This location is one of the Island's most laid-back and welcoming. There are many beaches found. The waters of the South Coast are the finest for diving, and the coral reefs are among the best. Since so many people are interested in exploring the undersea environment, it's no surprise that this is a popular destination. You can conduct both shore dives and reef dives.
Kitesurfing enthusiasts worldwide flock to this destination to take advantage of the excellent conditions for the sport.
On the South Coast of Zanzibar, the Menai Bay Nature Reserve is a marine turtle's safeguard area for rare species. It aims to safeguard the turtles which come to the Island to breed.
Several hotels and resorts may be found along the South Coast of Zanzibar. The hotels and resorts on this coast are far less noisy and more private than the resorts and hotels on the east and north coasts.

Things to Do & See in South Coast

Visit Kizimkazi Beach, Renowned for its Dolphin-Spotting Excursions

Magic and mysticism surround Kizimkazi Beach. At low tide, the beach, coral, tidal pool, and rocks are all exposed, allowing you to explore the area at your leisure. For this reason, the region offers a more distinct and genuine ambiance. Additionally, you'll be able to find exciting shells, crawling crabs, undersea urchins, and magnificent starfish in this area.
There are a lot of dolphins to be found off the beach of Kizimkazi. The local bay is home to both bottlenose and indo-pacific dolphins. Many boat captains will offer to take visitors there at any hour of the day or night, but most cruises leave early in the morning. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see wild dolphins in Zanzibar's pristine waters. It is possible to swim with dolphins but keep in mind that they are wild animals.

Visit Jambiani Beach, Most Popular Tourist Destination

Jambiani Beach, the epitome of a beach community, is home to emerald green waters and powder-like sand. It is the spot to go if you're looking for a more real Zanzibar experience. Tourists who venture here claim that this is one of Zanzibar's most popular destinations.
When it comes to accommodations, Jambiani has embraced tourism and now offers a variety of modest inns and hotels and several restaurants serving both regional specialties and foreign cuisine.
The beach is open to both locals and visitors, and the nighttime environment is ideal for a stroll down the sand.

See Red Colobus Monkeys at Jozani Forest

It's a beautiful, peaceful, and must-see place. The forest is a pharmacy itself when it comes to natural therapies. Every plant and tree has a cure. It is on the way to the southeast coast of the Island.
In the Jozani forest, the plants and palms reach breathtaking heights. Zanzibar is home to the only known population of red colobus monkeys, sought after as a tourist attraction. This forest is one place where you can find red colobus monkey sanctuaries.
In addition to these monkeys, you may also see Bushbaby, 50 various butterflies, and 40 different kinds of birds.
There are 6,207 acres in the forest. It was declared a nature park in the 1960s. Currently, the population ranges from 2,000 to 2,500 monkeys. Even though you can get very close to them, they don't bother by your presence. Their setting appears to be entirely at ease and unconcerned by your company.
Mangrove swamps can be found on both the north and south sides of the park. Worldwide, there is a broad selection of medicinal plants and trees.
Due to the boardwalk's single-direction layout, Jozani woodland is an excellent place to recharge your batteries.
Nothing compares to the beauty of a beach with white sand, palm trees swaying in the breeze, clear blue waters, and breathtaking sunset views from the shore.
Both professional and amateur international kitesurfers flock to Paje Beach to take advantage of the superb kitesurfing conditions.

Visit Paje Beach, a fantastic destination for KiteSufers

Paje Beach is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. Kite surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving are popular activities in the area, attracting tourists and residents alike. Those who prefer diving or swimming can take advantage of the clear waters, ideal for exploring the ocean bottom beneath the surface. Scuba divers can see tortoises, jellyfish, trumpet fish, and moray eels in the warm and clear waters.
Snorkeling is a fantastic alternative for individuals who do not want to dive but still want to see the underwater world.
Paje Beach, on the Island of Zanzibar, is a popular kiteboarding destination since it has earned the reputation of Tanzania's best beach for the sport.
Watching people at sea level on Paje beach pick seaweed for use in soap production by a female cooperative is an enjoyable activity to do while on vacation. The soap is sold in local shops and is wrapped in banana leaves to protect it from the elements. A purchase of a bar or two of soap made with natural ingredients benefits the community while also giving pleasant advantages to your skin.

Bwejju, on Zanzibar's south coast, features a solitary beach that's ideal for a peaceful getaway. Fishers returning from a day at sea in beautiful wooden dhow boats are an incredible sight.
